More on Roy Cohn and William Ginsburg - Lesson 1
More on Roy Cohn and William Ginsburg - Lesson 1In our graduate-level Writing for AP Lit essay, we will be reviewing Roy Cohn and William Ginsburg, two writers of great influence. However, we will also be using 'What is a Fascist' as an essay topic and writing an essay on it. However, there are many other writers who have written about this and their essays are all equally valuable. It should be obvious that Donald Trump is a big mouth, but he is an exception to the rule. He is a master of the most low-class tactic in politics: spin. He always goes with his gut instinct, whatever the polls say. However, a true leader would ask what the polls say and explain why they were wrong. And he would never back down from a fight, even when others are being mean to him.Roy Cohn is perhaps the most well-known lawyer in America. He was one of the major movers behind some of the most difficult times in American history. Nevertheless, he was considered to be one of the best lawyers of his time.Roy C ohn was perhaps one of the biggest financial backers of Senator Joseph McCarthy. Unfortunately, what was coined as McCarthyism wasn't really about him. What really happened was that the Democrats made him into a scapegoat for things that the Democrats did. Unfortunately, the public didn't think he was responsible for anything. Of course, that is the way any leader is made.William Ginsburg is a writer for the New York Times. The reason that I picked him as a writer is because he got a Pulitzer for his book 'How to Write.' He wrote with style and intelligence. He is certainly a man of some distinction. There are a lot of good reasons why one should not believe Roy Cohn and William Ginsburg when they say they are not fascists. And, the fact is that most people would not call themselves fascists either. But most of us do call ourselves leaders or at least have a flair for leadership. Perhaps some of the politicians who were brought up in families of government officials or political dono rs would describe themselves as such.Roy Cohn and William Ginsburg were two of the most important and yet forgot, American writers of the 20th century. They paved the way for a lot of writers to come up. I hope that we see more of these authors as our writers continue to become more influential in our society.
